I passed this scene at least a dozen times on my way to a friend’s house. I knew I wanted to photograph it but I also knew the shot needed to take place just before sunset. I also wanted some clouds in the sky as this was a pretty wide expanse and to me this view is the quintessential marsh scene on Hilton Head Island. That day finally arrived as I pulled off the road and shot several images that made it into the “Marsh Madness” collection.
